Just a reminder, practicing the detector characteristics is only part of the process! Practice that pinpointing and cutting the plugs too!

Went to the park today, was working the ballfield and one of the old timers from the LL came across. He noted someone had been there earlier and showed me where they dug, not pretty. Showed him my work by cutting a plug 8" dia. and 5" deep to recover a 1945 wheatie and he very much approved. I know it was a little large for the depth and recovery, but I wanted to show the man how much could be removed and replaced in a tidy manner.

Actually found the targets the earlier MD'er left behind in large nasty dug spots. No doubt about it, this was the work of a beginner who did not even locate the screw cap in the chunk of sod he had removed or the quarter in the other one.

Good luck and happy hunting!
