Hey guys wondering if you could help with another one? In my line of work I come across when unique and weird items! I found this decorative egg and was wondering what it is? What it's called besides a painted egg or a decorated egg :-). Ok now that I got the wise ass answers out of the way I was wondering if I could have some intelligent ones!! Lol. It looks to be painted with watercolor and some of the lettering looks a bit smudged but what do I know!! It is a real egg shell and I'm guessing it was just drained of its yolk since its empty. It's unbelievably fragile!! Any ideas!! Thanks mwwaaaa!

Weren't there some expensive, fancy decorative eggs sold years ago...maybe Faberge Eggs? That could have some real value.

I have heard of faberge eggs before but I don't believe this is faberge.

That must have been one beautiful hen to have laid an egg that pretty... Now that I've got my silliness out of the way, I have no idea about your find but it is a nice one.. I've got the egg out of a shell by punching a small pinhole in each end of the egg and blowing the liquid egg out, is there a small hole in the ends? Nice find..

No Thats another thing that kinda confuses me! I know that trick too I've done it before decorating Easter eggs so they don't go rotten out of the fridge. But there's no holes

I guarantee they are not the work of Peter Carl Faberge, yes that is a designers mark, they date from the 1970's or 1980's, and I suspect the egg is not real. They are quite collectible, very nice and my mother's collection of eggs(boxed for the last 20 years in the closet) contains a couple of them...

I actually found some on eBay. They are pretty common in china I guess. Considered as one of chinas secret wonders. I kinda answered my own question I guess.

This looks to me very similar to the hand painted eggs sold by street vendors in China Town..in fact, I have one with a gold fish on it that came with a little lacquered stand. I think I paid $5.00 for it in NYC a couple of years ago. Mine has a very tiny hole, the size of a pin on the top and bottom which I think were made to blow the contents of the egg out.
