1943P War Nickle!!! ;D

Hey Ya'll! Dig-it invited me over to his new spot to hunt today. Had a really great time! (Thanks Marty~!) It had come a quick down-pour just before I arrived so it was easy diggin and great temps! :) Only thing was....this was his 1899 site that they had just added fresh fill and it was a bit messy with me having flip flops on! :P But we did manage to get around the edges and find a few keepers. Marty found quite a few trinkets and change....not sure about the details but maybe he will post them. I found a ring (not gold) and a little gun, a button and a hair barrette. Did find some change and got a 1943P nickle! Didn't know it till I got home and got the magnifying glass out! :D For some reason I just can't read those little dates! They're too small! :D Thanks for the invite Marty! :) Oh...and I forgot the camera. :'(

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Nana ;)

Nice little collection of neat finds, congrats Nana!
Sounds like it was a great day of hunting.
That gun looks a "little" dangerous.

Smiles!

Hey Nana....Glad to see you got some goodie's this weekend,I hooked up with jmginmd Sat. and hunted a church built in 1900.I cleaned up while he "cleaned up",got the pant's swept off me..But he too found a war time nickel and a Buffalo and some other coin's(mostly clad).I need a new detector..no doubt, anyway congrat's on your find's and HH!!

:o The little gun is really unique; I wonder what it's from. Digging a war nickle is really something! Also a ring to boot. I'd say you had a really GOOD day. ;D Congratulations!

Nana, it looks like you had a great time and BTW love that little pistol. 8) Congrats on the war nick. HH and keep 'em comin'.

Nice Finds Nana.

Congrats on the Silve Nickel.

Jeff

Very nice finds!! Nice ring and congrats on the silver nickel. WTG!! HH

Nice going, Nana! That little pistol (minus the rubber bulb) looks like this one from a 1929 Johnson Smith & Co. novelties catalog.

Nice finds. War Nickels are great. Soak it in ammonia for about 5 minutes and it will clean up nice. Pistol is cool.

Nice site, finds and hunt Nana, good you got out with someone. Flip flops, LOL! HH, Mike

Hey Nana, do you ever have a bad day?

Another bunch of interesing goodies you got.

That old water pistol is so cool! Good thing you like iron ::)

The War Nickels are fun finds and I dug one early last spring. I can usually tell them right off because they come out of the ground looking very silver. Regular nickels are very stained if buried any length of time.

Great post.

Badger P.S. Next time don't forget your camera ;D

Neat-O PBK! How do you find all this stuff! 8) Thanks for the ID...I would have never guess it! :)

Spotz...you didn't stay quite long enough....after 20 minutes all I had to show for it was one penny. :D

Badger....yes.... ;D

Mike...I knew I should have worn something different than flip flops...but knowing that I was going to a cleaned lot..and not knowing that it was going to rain...I took my chances.... :-\ :D I'll put the boots in the truck for back up from now on! :D

Thanks ya'll!

;)
