Hey,from Va., newbie to MD'ing and already having fun.

I hail from the New River valley of Va. I just got into MD'ing and already having fun and doing alot of grunting as my user names implys. I found my first coin yesterday. It was only a zin-copper dated 1968, Ah!! but the first, it was like finding Gold. It is definitely a keeper. I've also found old nails, aluminium cans,a rusted out matchbox car and a small metal toy figure. I'm using a Garret GTA 350 and it appears to meet my level of hunting at this time. I'll upgrade when this one pays for itself. I am definitely going to invest in a pin pointer. I enjoy reading about all of the discoverys on these forums. Happy Hunting to all. I have a treasure cach story to share at a later date when I have collected more info. :icon_sunny: :read2: ???

Welcome Grunter to TNET the best treasure forum in the world. The layout is great, the info is great and the people are great. I, too, remember my first day with my detector. It did not take long and I was hooked. I'm sure you know the feeling. Best advice I can give you is don't become discouraged by all the treasure you see posted here and that you are not finding that kind of stuff. It takes time, effort and research and a lot of hours hitting the ground. Keep in mind your time will come. Secondly, dig as many signals as you possibly can, when you pass up a signal it could have bee something awesome.

Happy Hunting fccdfed
