Here's the scoop!

After my 2 detector buddy's bailed on me, I detected a trashy old home site in Apex. I have been wanting to hit this site for years and today I got around to it. I found a wooden/metal scoop and a candle holder, a broken axe head and a green Lincoln cent (can't read the date). This place had so much trash around it. >:( I kept finding car parts and beer cans. Nothing worth keeping today :'(

Re: Here's the scoop!

One would think that you would have found something more there as the way it looks.
I think the well house was built better than the main house . Could of used a better level also . :)

Re: Here's the scoop!

I am sure there has got to be some treasure there, you just have to get through all that trash. Keep at it and you will find it.

Na, I give up on it. I only have a large coil for relics, it picks up to much trash.

Is that a mill stone on top of the well?

Good eyes NJ! :notworthy: Those old Grist Mill stones can be
worth a few thousand if in good condition! :icon_thumright:

I like the candle holder, very rustic looking. Originally it would
have held an oil lamp chimney in the prongs around the candle holder.

Maybe there really is something of value back there SkyPirate! :o

That is what I was thinking...if it is just make sure you cover the well with something else solid.

Here's a link to a website of a company that specializes
in old Mill stones, they're located in Covington, GA

Joe,
If those beer cans were full I would go back. :occasion14:
Some old places look sooooooooooooooo good until you get there and check them out. We can't win them all. :dontknow:
Neat looking spot though. I could see why you gave it a shot.

I know what you mean about those big coils & iron. But if you had a small sniper coil for your machine I would give it another try. It just looks like a site that might be hiding some goodies!
Someday when I get some extra money I don't need for anything else, I will get a sniper coil. They seem a little over priced for what they are....Some copper wire windings in epoxy.
