So, it's obvious that it is a type of washer, but can anyone help ID what the material might be/what it might be from? It almost seems to be brass-like/coppery. Little smaller than a dime (I apologize for not having something handy for size reference).

*EDIT* Hopefully this new pic is helpful! Thanks for looking! size.JPG

I've found a lot of those lately. Not sure of the exact size in your picture, but the ones I find are the washer part of a Copper rivet.

Seems too large to be a rivet washer... Its about 1.5cm across, and the odd part about it, when I found it with my detector it was ringing high like a dime. Even once I pulled it out of the ground.

There are brass washers, in the past lots more than there are now. Plastic and coated steel have replaced the brass, but one place brass washers along with nuts and bolts were used was attaching the tank to the toilet, and the seat to the throne. Used extensively on boats in the old days, don't know about now. It doesn't look like it's off a tarp to me, looks like a brass washer like I have out in my shop right now.

Thanks a bunch BM! A lot of great minds here on TNet! A big thanks to all that took a stab at it as well :)

Yeah, after seeing your size reference, it's a lot bigger than the ones I've been finding. Here's a pic of some of those, the dime is just for comparison, even though it was found at the same site.Rivets and a Dime 001.JPG
