I thought this was a neat find. Came across an old metal detector and can't find any info on it. It's a Sears And Roebuck Mod. 321.59636
Hip Mount / TR
Has Chicago, Il. 60684
Any info would be great. Might not sound great to some people, but I thought it was a cool find.

Thanks

Sorry, I couldn't find any info on that detector...
I wonder, how many of the old detectors are going to end up as collectables?..
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

That's certainly a cool find, wonder what its best find was.. ah the stories it could tell us.

Sears used to sell Whites Coinmaster 4 detectors. I think they were tan or grey in color, but were identical to the Whites "blue" detectors. This was in the early to mid 1970's.

I have one of the those...Sears Model #321.59641 also has Whites's Electronics Inc written on it too. Weighs a ton. LOL I did attach a strap to make it easier to carry. A friend left it here many years ago, we used it mostly for finding lost tools, property markers, & lately locating blacksmith made iron. No instruction booklet, so I more or less had to learn how to use it, Plans are being made to upgrade to a newer, lighter weight model so I can find all the nice things that everyone else is finding. :D

HH :)

If it's related to Whites you can down load instructions and settings right from them. I got a Whites 5000d coin master from one of my customers (early to mid '80s) and it's fantastic. Set up is a little work but it beats the hell out of my BH

NICE FIND INDEED These units sold by SEARS were WHITES and were coin, and jewelry producers. SLOW DOWN, scrub the coil, wear headphones, listen for those mosquito buzz's as they are the deep targets. Always found the units very stable in varying soil conditions and when ground balanced, sensitivity and discrimination allow great control over the unit in field conditions. I hunted through my youth with this unit and eventually graduated to Whites models we used to thrash the ground with by swinging the head across targets. Put that thing in use and show off your success. Oldest coin found 1696 in Virginia. 1773 Virginia Half Penny.
1913 2&1/2 $ GOLD INDIAN HEAD. Tis unit does the rain, in a plastic shield. It is an amphibian as well. It works well in water not over 2ft. so long as the unit never gets wet and you have not worn holes in your coil scrubbing and reaching ever deeper targets. BEST OF LUCK
