Nice finds!

Just beautiful HH!

Congrats!

Nana ;)

First off, great finds! Did the owner claim the ring was actually his or that he just was taking it? You might try asking if you can try to find the owner.

Next time you go to a private place like the one you hunted, make sure that the owner knows that what you find is yours. I always have a previous agreement with land owners that things I keep are mine to do what I please with. I always ask before I hunt property if there was any significant jewelry of other things that were lost so I can return them if I find them. I also tell owners if I find rings or the such and ask if they can identify things like inscriptions or other identifying traits in order to return them also.

Good luck in your future hunts!

Great finds!! Im lucky, noone wants the stuff i dig up :P Except for that horse anchor i found a long time ago, my neighbors an old man and loves history and he liked it so i gave it to him to put next to his front door :) Would have been a pain to lug back to my house anyway....even though thats only a couple hundred feet down the field. but the thing weighed ALOT!

Great finds

The pics look a lot better than mine have been coming out lately. Great digs, WTG!!!
Too bad about not getting to keep them though. Not a good feeling, but atleast you had the thrill of the hunt.
I think I done said something like that once today, anyway...
Good luck & Happy hunting~

Thanks deadshot,
Actually I was talking to the land owner about a few houses that i had found on the map.which no longer are there..and he asked me to try his front yard.(1890's farm house) I was actually keeping the pennies and other junk until the ring came out..then that was his...same thing for the halfty..I couldnt argue with the man...I just learned from a big mistake...I have done alittle research on the ring myself....and believe it came from West Virginia...And I live in North Central Pa..
Anyhow..Going to a house tonight i believe was built in the late 1800...maybe something good will come from there...
Thanks to all..

Great silver finds, to bad the land owner kept them, what a jerk. Live and learn and good luck.

Headhunter,

nice.

You got the pics, they were your finds. It happens.

Would ask if you could do more hunting on this property and "split the finds" one for me one for you. Should be

more there. Than again, may not be worth the aggravation.

have a good un.............

I think the picture looks pretty nice actually. I'm sorry again about your goodies being taken from you.

It reminds me of a story from one of the posters on here. He asked a little old lady if he could detect her property. She said yes and proceeded to follow him around and take everything that he dug.

Good luck next time!
