Ken isn't it really Harvey though? I thought the farm was the best place to look anyway. I have a feeling out of the 80 plus cache leads I have around Indiana you are in the know of many as well. Lets for sure keep in touch. I have two or three big ones I am going to hit this fall. You live in Indianapolis?I was able to hunt the farm a couple of weeks ago and did not find anything worth reporting.
Also learned the land is sold and a ~200 home development will be starting this Spring.
I was given permission last year from the previous farm owners. I have spent probably 30 hours total using equinox 800 with a 15in coil. I have scoured up to the edges of the homes and had it grided out walking back and forth I also covered the other side where it's divided by tree lines where he once owned. I did most of the church property as well finding newer coins
just posted an update of my finds on the land as I was out there last year .always interested in going on hunts msg me. NickFollow-up:
I found Hervey's house in Danville but was unable to get permission to hunt. Property has changed quite a bit since 1896. Lot has been split into two smaller lots with a newer home on the new part. A garage was added to the backyard of the original home and a concrete back porch. Home is now used as apartments. Still would have been fun to hunt.
I haven't got permission yet to hunt the 100 acre farm which also has new development on part of it.
To be continued.
Nick I just saw this update. Awesome stuff. I have been researching none stop over past couple years on local and midwest cache leads that could have been lost to history. My thing is if I can google the name or something about the story and find something on it being a treasure I skip it. Not that those aren't great leads as well but I am trying to focus on stuff pre technology when they couldn't just go run a coil over the ground that for one reason or another have just been forgot. Its shocking how many of those situations are still out there. Probably not for long though. Anyway would love to talk sometime. Old wedding ring,1900 silver morgan ,a belt buckle, old watch ,lots of bullets, old wrench, and an axe head that was about 3 ft in the ground...it was super rainy and barely picked up signal and kept digging anyways. All along the backs of the houses is littered with trash objects. even discrimated my equinox one day. All objects on table correspond to the grid pic of items and where foundView attachment 1999075View attachment 1999076View attachment 1999077View attachment 1999078View attachment 1999079
