Helping the '''Archies''' again.......
Took a half day holiday to help the Archies with their dig. You may notice its been raining a bit, as I said on Sunday. I tend not to like these archie types & often go around punching them in the head, especially the girl ones, they really annoy me.
Found a few iron nails in some of there features (ditches).
Iron Age pottery shards & a bone from the same area (see picture with my shadow for where I found these). This is where there looks to be prehistoric activity & what might be a round house nearby. Iron Age stuff of any kind is very rare for me to find. This dig may get interesting, fingers crossed.
In another part of the field I found a bronze Medieval pot leg from a ditch fill.
Whilst waiting & walking between trenches I found one of the best Roman Bronzes I have had in awhile. Showed them all & they were impressed, but as its not part of the dig its mine (although this one may go to the farmer).
A nice afternoon with two keen young lady 'Archies'.
Look forward to when they start on sectioning the features.
