Hmmm... Interesting... It obviously clamped onto something else. My first thought was a quick-connect for a hose. :dontknow:

What is the metal? Does the hole taper to a smaller size?

Looks like an irrigation pipe coupler, DC Matt is on the right path! Sub 8-)

He says it's carbon steel and the interior shape follows the outer wall like a cup.
