Here's a suggestion for real newbies that helped me as I started out. Practice and use your detector as many hours as you can along with reading the threads on the forums, especially the "help" threads. You'll find that as you gain experience with your detector, some of the things you read on the forums (early on) will begin to make much more sense than they did at first.
