Can Quartz have a blue tint like that? I don’t know much about crystals and just inherited a bunch so Im very new to this.

It looks purple in the photo, meaning that it is technically Amethyst, which is purple quartz

Get a book on rocks & minerals, there are some basics which will help you identify the majority of finds, such as streak, hardness, crystal structure etc. it is a fascinating subject

I have a couple books, but some of the crystals just couldn’t figure out for the life of me! Haha I have found that this is all very interesting and I like learning more about it

The best clues for minerals are crystal structure and hardness, since most minerals can exhibit a lot of different colors depending upon which impurities are present
