Engine gasket whats it made of

It is made of the same stuff as most of the other things I find in the woods around here which I believe is just iron though I'm far from an expert on the subject. It is too thick to be a gasket though, almost but not quite a 1/4 inch from my eyeballs perspective:dontknow: It is going in the electrolysis bucket after the horseshoe I also found is done so maybe cleaning it up will reveal something.

It reminds me of this used for rescue ropes . but my confidence in this guess is pretty low.

not heavy enough for it to be a hay fork rope attachment. I thought it looked heavier. Would also not be heavy enough for a rescue rope descender. Seems too thick for a gasket though.

Something to do with ropes, or rope knots. (?)

"And so the population was gradually led into the demoralising temptations of arcades, baths, auto clicker word unscrambler jumble solver Aand sumptuous banquets. The unsuspecting Britons spoke of such novelties as 'civilisation', when in fact they were only a feature of their enslavement." Tacitus, Roman Senator and Historian, written AD 98.
