I found this yesterday afternoon while out metal detecting for a couple of hours. It had a piece of leather attached to the back. It registered as a 75 on my AT Pro. I've tried to research it online and I can't find anything that even comes close to what it looks like. Thanks for the help.

Any idea where from or what period? The area I was in very possibly had civil war movement through the area. Thanks.

Tough one to date, the sheild dipicts Fleur de li, and what looks like a crude lion, This seems to be based on a earlier Heraldic period (Medieval). The Georgians and Victorians liked to copy this time period. So I suppose the 1800s could fit.

Wow...I can't believe that. Very good info. Like I said I haven't been able to find anything on it. Well this makes my day!

Thanks for the very good info. Looks like I'm gonna have to go back and hit this place really slow. I'm pretty excited about not being able to find one anywhere on the internet. Thanks again for all the help.

buckle.jpgHow about a metal tip on a belt like this one? The photo is silver, perhaps your was off an inexpensive kids belt, perhaps even a toy holster for a cap gun.

I have no clue. The back piece of leather i took off looked like it had been ripped off of what ever it was attached to. I'm open to all suggestions but the way it is designed it just doesn't seem practical as a belt tip.
