not exactly coin roll hunting but found couple interesting pennies going through my dads wheat pennies. in pics first one is regular one to show sizes. second one is 1955 d that is smaller like dime size and also thinner. it doesnt have much of a rim. could it be penny on dime planchet? third one is 196? cant make out last digit its not wheat penny. it looks like its all smushed in guess would call it. mint error or something like being in dryer long time? thanks for help everyone! hope pics show them good hard to get pics to turn out great. had to post links to my site cuz tried to compress them but still didnt work. moved it to this forum instead of coins as seems to be more action here.

If the smaller wheat penny were struck on a dime planchet, then it would be silver colored, not copper colored. The U.S. Mint sometimes struck coins for other countries, so it is possible that the planchet from another country's "penny" was struck with wheat penny dies. I have no idea what happened to the memorial penny. I can't think of how this could have happened at the Mint because of how irregular the metal flow is at the rim.

Thanks for reply. I got chance to weigh it finally and it weighs right at 2.00 grams so to small for dime. Anyone know of foreign coins minted in us back than that size? Or know where can find info about them?

thanks for website. when i click on link though it gives me error message that closes internet explorer
