Surface find in piles of dirt I have been slowly working through. Hoping for rain everyday until I can get this stuff spread out into more managable detecting depth. Not positive but from research and intel from buddies, pre-civil war militia buckle. I know the eagle has been on many buckles but oddly have not found any that match embossing and have eagle head turned left like this one. Any knowledge regarding time period would be appreciated
