Help with three items! Button's age, top of old lighter case, metal screwy thing

The first is a button for the "Concord Montreal Railroad" made by the Waterbury Button Company. Looking for a general age of the button.

2nd is what I think is the top of a lighter case? Rough age?

3rd is...?? no idea - It's plated with something - chrome? It has a design on both sides, and what look like threads at the bottom. A random IHC was placed in the image for size. It's about 2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches tall.

Thanks for any help!

If I understand this article the "Concord Montreal Railroad" existed from 1889-1895. The backmark was used from 1849-1965. So, it looks like your button is late 1800's. I don't have any idea on the other stuff but all are interesting finds.
Here's a link to the article:

Cool button. It dates from 1890 to after the 1900's. I'm not sure how far into the 1900's that backmark can go though.

The key thing looks like the twist 'bat wing' key to an antique twist bell-doorbell. It's sorta hard to tell; it's not easy being green. :laughing7: Breezie

Re: Help with three items! Button's age, top of old lighter case, metal screwy thing

Looking at my copy of "New Hampshire Rail Trails" by Charles Martin I see several references to the Concord & Montreal Railroad. Looks like it had lines all over the state and was taken over by the B&M Railroad pretty early on. I recently bought the book at Borders in Concord and while it's mainly a guide for hikers looking to walk the old railroad trails, it shows the location of most of them along with pictures & old maps. Good $20 investment. Where in NH are you ? There is a pretty nice display of old RR stuff at the depot in Conway where the Conway Scenic Railroad operates out of and I believe they may have some Concord & Montreal stuff. The wife & I took the train ride through Crawford Notch last year and it was alot of fun although with her fear or heights she didn't enjoy the "Frankenstein Trestle" quite as much as I did... :laughing9:
