Hello,

I found this coin, wich I believe might be my oldest yet. I think it's french. It looks to have the same design than a ''un decim'' but the writting dosen't fit. It's the size of a quarter.

Here it is :
sousf.jpg

On the obverse, a bust is facing right with the letter S underneath.
On the reverse, the first line is ''UN'', the second starts with ''SO'' and I think the third would be the date ''17..''

Can you help me ?

Thanks,

Thomas

Looks French and early to mid 1700's. Found some like it but not exact.

I think the second word is probably SOLS.

Just saw one that had SOUS too. But again thats only 4 letters. Im sure Iron Patch or Cru will be along. They will know what it is.

IP is the master...

I tried for last half hour to help you identify this.

It probably took him a half second.

:hello2:
Congrats on the lovely coin. :)

I took a quick look through my books to rule something out. Then 2 minutes online. ;D Lets just say I kinda have a system for searching that works pretty good.
