Found this coin today. The date is 1823. It has a large "W" on it and a Crown. Thanks for any responses...Henry

OPPPS -- 1823 dutch coin 1 C = cent---my goof!!! not waering mt glasses mistook the 1 C for I C --- must remember to wear my glasses !

The Dutch had a 1 cent coin in that year.

Could have fooled me. I thought the "Cent" wasn't introduced to the Kingdom of the Neatherlands until 1833; and that only the 'duit' , stuiver and gulden were minted in 1823.

This is a 1 cent coin of king William I from the Netherlands, minted in Utrecht an Brussels (Belgium was a part of the Netherlands until 1830). It's a common md find here.
