Help with the age...time period

Found this a few weeks back, lost it in my house and just found it again... I found it at a park where a very old church used to be, found quite a few things there.. Thanks for the help

it looks like a shoe buckle...early 1800s.that being said it is such a generic shape that a positive id may be elusive
