Since I put an ad in the paper about the ring I found ( the pic in my profile ) I have received an e-mail from a woman who's husband lost his ring which is white gold with diamonds. I know where it is in general, a small hill where kids sledride. My question is, since I am using an ACE 250 and this thing is just gold, no silver, then should I have my setting on jewelry or all metal? I heard gold can be found with the same sound as pull tabs. I want to look for just this ring, I am on a mission.

Thank you,
Jason

The only way to be sure (if that's really possible) is to use the all metal mode. That said, take your 250 and put it on a wooden table so you can pass objects below the coil. Get a pull tab and a gold ring, pass them under the coil and make adjustments to see if your machine will discriminate the pulltab out and still register the ring. If it will, make careful note of the settings and give it a try. If not - read 1st sentence.

I just met another brother mder and he found an 18k ring that showed trash on his screen. It was down about 5in but he was useing a White xlt.
