Help with some sort of Medal.

A friend of mine asked me if I could figure out what this Medal is. I said that I may not be able too but I know some folks that probably could

I am thinking Military, maybe National Guard The Quarter is for size reference. What do you think.......

Now I guess the Question I have is what was the Medal for? An award, was it worn for meetings, does it show some sort of rank

It seems clear that the IOOF had an independent yet millitary oriented sub group of Uniformed Ranks. But perhaps that is for another day? Yes, this is very tongue-in-cheek, but a few hundred people like SBB and BCH and others who have worked on the thread that is now 5 pages long may be slightly amused.

Where are you Bob? Interesting that the one in Allans link from '63 has Ohio 891 engraved and Vermontpacker's says Vermont 206.

I think that I agree with the number being some sort of lodge or devision. Masons have different lodge numbers.... Right?
