I'm trying to date an old farmsite which is a forest preserve now. The foundation for the house is in the woods now. I found this behind where the house would've been. Any idea on the age? or make. It looks like the helmet or hat was a seperate piece that had a pin that connected it to the head which has a hole in the top of it. Thanks for any replies. HH

By the way the soldier appears to be made of lead. It's also about 2 1/4 inches tall

Nice find. The uniform appears to be from WW1 era, but that's all I can help with.

I think your soldier is what is called a kneeling sniper...made by Barclay and had a tin helmet...made after 1935

Once again I have to say it, you guys are awesome. I see the same little guy on Angelos pics. I thought the rifle barrel had snapped of and now I know. Thanks to all for repling. HH

He's not French, that's for sure. You know, since he's prepared to fight and all. :tongue3:

Looks like a post-1935 Barclay sniper, short stride, missing his doughboy helmet and a bit of the rifle barrel.
