It's a Sunday School (SS) attendance pin. The same design has been around for a long time, and is still available, I think; but I definitely remember seeing them back in the 1950's. Some had a bronze, silver, or gilt finish, and some were enameled. For more info, scroll down to "Sunday Best" at:

Here's a pic of an enameled pin similar to yours.

Wow, I only blinked twice. You are fast. Thanks again.

Anytime, Lucky!

BTW, I just checked and they are indeed still being sold. Here are some "Little's Cross & Crown System" Sunday School pins of the same design, but with "Lutheran" rather than "Methodist," currently retailing for $3.50.

PBK seems to beat me to ever punch. Congrats! Yes, I remember a man who had 40 years of perfect sunday school attendance, and he always wore all his little attendance pins to church. They covered both lapels of his blazers. I bet that's a lot of work for a 70 year old man to take them all off and attach them to another blazer each Sunday. I bet he took as long to get ready for church as my ex fiance took to get ready for anything LOL! He looked like the king of Prussia every Sunday.
