Over the years I have found numerous buttons, some old, some new. I have singled out the few I believe might be of some importance as far as age or history. Any help IDing these would be greatly appreciated. I know that someone would be able to help in figuring these out a lot quicker than if I tried to track each one down myself. Again, any help would be great.

LMAO... Holy crap!

27 buttons!

Here... this is to help us keep it all straight. Of course you must know you've hardly given us enough information about these buttons to help much, but help we shall... without back marks or additional information we can get close on most of these.

#1 United States Air Force (military) dress blues uniform button
#2 Ivan Salis is correct in the above post
#3 Looks like #2? Great Seal button - US Army
#8 Italian Navy (military) Button
#13 Civilian Golf Motif (club) button
#19 http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,92063.0.html
#20 Not a button but a hem weight (dress/curtain)

#5 Source: PBK - Fancy dress buttons with pierced gilt brass fronts and contrasting backing (often dark cloth) were popular in the late 1800's. It was a fairly common practice to place a drop of perfume or scented oil on one or two of them, to be absorbed by the fabric within the button.

Does number 9 have a shank that connects to the back in 4 parts?

If so, I have one exactly like it... I believe its a mid 19th century french artillery button.
