I hope no one here will consider this a cross post, and if it is I apologise. I'm new to this forum and I probably posted in the wrong category. I sent a message to one of the moderators to have it switched, but haven't heard back. I would like to refer you to a post in "Garage Sale Finds" titled 'Silver Japanese Bowl'. There are marks on the bottom of it that I can't seem to get a translation to anywhere. I've tried two universities (if you are not a student, forget about any help)and been all over the net. If anyone here has any expertise in Japanese silver, please check it out and reply. I appreciate any assistance you can give.
