Slag won't always set off your detector. It is the left over from the smelting process, the goal is to smelt out all of the metal in it, so, what is left over is mainly just melted rock. That's why it has a glassy look to it.I just meant that my Metal detector didn't detect it at all. I had it on discriminate though. I was thinking slag at first but i thought that my detector would have went off and my garrett pro-pointer didn't even go off?
