Welcome Alex..... Could use more info. Where did you find it? Would be a big help. Whats it made of? What size is it? More pictures please.

The ring is 7.2 gr, presumably silver, approx 12mm diamater. It is in a bad way, i.e. band detached from one side so possibly metal detector find. Possibly balkans/ eastern european origin, but this is just a guess. From my father's collection, he passed away many years ago so don't have any more info.

Looks like a wax seal with the letters S N or N S, probably initials of owner, no idea about the crown.

ETA: If it is a Royal Cypher there is a good chance someone can track it down. Me no luck yet.

Very nice indeed.

I'm seeing 'S' and 'N' superimposed on one another, with both letters back to front. That would be because it's a 'seal ring' for letters and other documents, such that the letters would appear the correct way round on the sealing wax impression.

The crown (strictly coronet) type is for nobility, rather than royalty. So, something in the territory of Baron or Count if it were from Eastern Europe (no reason to believe it isn't). It's obviously pretty old and may be a one-off that you'll never find a match for, although you may find similar styles. If there's any family history attached to it, that may be your best prospect for dating it.

Wow that is really neat! Looking at the second photo, it kind of looks like someone made a ring out of cutting a stem off a spoon or fork and wrapping it around.

Maybe a homemade version of something like these...

Possibly, although those are signet rings rather than seal rings. It looks more like it was purpose made as a cast ring, possibly in two pieces... shank and head.

However, I just realised something odd. The OP says it's 12mm in diameter. That's TINY and would have to be for a woman's pinky, or for a child, or never worn as a ring but suspended around the neck.
