Hey, I recently posted a handful I'd found at a dump site. Since then I've found a few more, and for the sake of OCD :laughing7: I was wondering if someone could ID them for me. The dump they were found in dates to the 1930s; if you could tell manufacturer by looking at them that'd be awesome, but idk the collectors' lingo either so just knowing what they are (mfr if possible, glass/agate, design type) would be fantastic. Just click the Marbles link in my signature to see them...

Thanks again

EDIT: They are numbered in the album with their diameters, if that helps any.

Thanks, I appreciate it.. What does "vitro" mean? Are any of these valuable?

vitro agate was the company...some of theyre marbles get good money...those are common....

Ok. Are any of mine actually agate? Or are they all glass?

#9 is a swirl, not a patch
#10 Vitro All Red
#11 LOOKS like it could be a master or Vitro, need better images
#12 Vitro Conqueror
#13 looks like a Foreign
#14 also looks foreign, need more pics of the beat to hell side :) The solid white patch that you show has no "brush" look so that knocks out all but 3-4 companies and the fact is has green clear peaking makes me think across the seas
#15 Akro agate
#16 Akro Agate limeade
#17 is a master Marble cleary
#18 is also a master marble cleary
#19 is a vitro conqueror as well, need better pics on other side as well, may be a phantom as I can slightly see feathering

Vitro is a company
Vitro Agate was formed in 1932 and went bankrupt in 1985. It was brought back to life in 1987 as The Vitro Agate corporation and then was sold in ...91 or 92 and became Jabo

For marbles
You need to take 4 photos minimum for a dead on ID for most marbles
Face it towards you, click, turn it 180 degrees, click. Turn it end to end 180 degrees, click and turn it 180 degrees end to end again and click
Giving you images of all four "Sides" which can make the difference between a .10 marble and a 10.00 marble in many cases or confusing an Akro patch as a 2.00 marble when showing another side may show it as a 100.00 sparkler :)

Good luck with your marbles

Thanks... are any of the "may be [this] instead of [that]" ones potentially valuable? I'm not going to take a bunch of pics of them if they're not.

I think #6 would bring a buck or 2 if you listed it on the bay, with closer and cropped photos showing top, bottom, front back
It seems to have a nice pattern and images sell the marble ...period ;)
