I really need some help with this one I can't figure out what kind of stone this is. I thought it might be a turquoise but can't find anything on yellow and green mixed turquoise. Also it is a Mexican artisan piece marked Mexico TS-101 950 and I can't find any info on who the artist might be! I know the first letter stands for taxco and the second letter is supposed to be the first letter of first or last name! The 101 is the number silversmith they registered to be! Beyond that I'm stumped!! Any help with this would be awesome!! :-)

Believe that is Mexican jade. Jadeite, nephrite or dyed stone I don't know. Usually 950 means platinum, but in Mexico I think it means silver. Some of that metal looks like gold., but I can't really see. Taxco is one of the major jewelry centers in Mexico and I suspect that you have a pretty expensive piece there. But I could be wrong. Maybe it's from Walmart or the local pulga(spanish for flea) market. Pretty sure i'm right though. By the way, what did you do? Go detecting in a jewelry store. Just kidding. This and the chain are really, really nice.

NOT from Walmart!!! That's a realy nice set & worth some money. I don't know who the silversmith was but there is a bracelet by the same artist on ebay for about $200 - a bit high but not that far off the mark. Your necklace with earrings would easily be worth that though - or more. Good find!

Of course it's not from Walmart. And it's worth a great deal more than $200. It was custom made and sold in a gallery in Taxco. You can find a list of the better galleries and call them. I have seen this work before at a store here in San Antonio. In La Villita to be exact. Don't know where you are, but from here, Santa Fe, Palm Springs etc., there are many experts who could tell you the whole history of the piece, who created it and exactly what it is worth. It is truly beautiful and don't assume that metal is silver until an upscale jeweler looks at it.
