Typo in title: Hand Carved.

Hello again :) This man was handed down to me yesterday by my father. He said his mother had it for as long as he can remember. He doesn't know anything about it other than its hand made. By his wardrobe I'm guessing late 1800's-early 1900's??? Is there anyone who is familiar with wood carvings? Trying to figure out time period. Thanks in advance again!

It looks like a Black Man figurine ? could have possibly been carved by a Slave ? or have Good Black History to it ...

That's what I was thinking but it seems like the wardrobe wouldn't have been worn by a slave. Right? The facial features looks similar to other African masks/figures. I looked at other vintage and antique American carvings of black men and the facial features doesn't look the same.
