Sorry for the bad pictures, I had to snap them in a hurry and my camera is gone till Sunday....anyway, I think this is a half penny. I can't seem to find one with the lady on the back and a left facing bust. The back is surely the lady found on George III half pennies but I didn't see any III's with a left facing bust...any thoughts? I'd like to get an ID and put it in a display deal for the homeowner whose yard I found it in (since I showed him the half a reale and he let me keep it without a blink). The coin has actually cleaned up a bit...pretty sure the date is under the lady on the back...

...and hows this foxface thing. No picture of the back yet. on the back it has a hard fixed piece like a buckle but it also has a shank like a button (see on the left side of the face is the bottom of the shank), then the loop is through the shank and fixed hard to the piece itself...then the other loop. I wonder if it's silver... or even old? Forgot to add: I think the fox has a dove or some other bird in it's mouth.... cool.

This dirt has given up some decent stuff.
Thanks for looking.

Nice.

I must have had too many cups of coffee. The first picture looks like Robin Williams with a Bert Simpson hair cut.

...something to think about......

The coin maybe George II? coins issued in abundance 1729-54. After 1740 they used an older portrait... hard to tell the difference with the coin so worn.

Rain out here, had the day off and an old fort site set up to hunt :-\.... what to do, what to do....

Yes Geo II halfpenny

The fox is holding a bird?

A little different angle you can see the bird head a little better. The piece is cracked right along the (would be/could be) birds neck.

I think the "fox" item is a buckle from a ladies' belt. Perhaps the whole belt was composed of links of chain. I was thinking Victorian, but I don't know if they had chain link belts then. Might even be more modern.
