I believe I've found a very large undocumented probable warship wreck.
It seems very old. Did some research and can't find it documented anywere.

How do I make a discovery claim and how can I make sure to get any value
Off its contents withen the law. It is in public waters of florida.

If not allowed to keep or cash in plunder I would at least like credit for finding it if it is
Previously undiscovered.

Well, just the fact that you have posted the information here on TNET, I can assure you that state officials are already aware.

You can apply for an exploration permit to explore it (not salvage it), but it is going to cost you some money, time and a lot of your mental health. (just keeping it 'real' as they say)

If you are talking about a WWII wreck, chances are it has already been searched and documented by the military.

A good place to start searching for documented military wrecks is through military websites.

Go to www.google.com/unclesam
click on "Advanced Search"

In the top line use your keywords.

In the domain box put (.mil) without the parenthesis.

Jbhayes if you report this wreck the state will take it away from you. They have not issue'd a salvage petmit in 20 years. Thats the hard facts. If you want credit for finding it, they will say a "local diver" found it! I like the name of Tnet's newest member, "loot 'n scoot."
