I found an old homestead site that is producing some good finds. In my first hunt, a few days ago, I found an 1856 Large Cent!

Went back today and found a 1936 Mercury Dime. My first Silver coin!

I also found the token shown in the pictures. It's in pretty bad shape but I have been able to make out most of the lettering.

It's from an old department store in Cincinnati called Mabley and Carew. I googled it and can't find any information about this particular token. Thought some of you might have some other resources to tap into.

Front:
Across Top reads: "Mabley & Carew's"

There's an image in the middle, but can't tell what it is (Maybe a picture of their store?).

The bottom of the front reads: "Legal Guarantee"

Back:
Across Top reads: "We Guarantee"

Middle reads (Can't read it all):[
"The Goods Bought ???
As Represented ???
Price as the Same ???
Be Bought Anywhere ???
You become Dissatisfied With
Your Purchase We Will
Exchange The Goods
or Refund The
Money"

Across Bottom reads: "Mabley and Carew"

Can anyone help me with estimating the age of this token? And maybe find a picture of what it is supposed to look like?

Thanks!

Wikipedia has a writeup on Mabley & Carew - did you misread your piece? Search with Google for Mabley & Carew and you will get a lot of hits.
