Afraid your going to have to provide the clues : and a better overall picture of the samples.
Not trying to be cryptic but with out knowing kinda where the samples were found and knowing some of the geology of the area they were located in its difficult to say what I'm looking at. Part of narrowing down an identification is in getting familure with were the samples are coming from.... and that relies on you :) Lots of information at the library and online for figuring out your local geology.

At just a glance possible minerals that come to mind are microline quartz, hematite or magnetite, saphralite *a zinc mineral*, or maybe cinnabar *a mercury mineral*. They all appear to by products of a hydrothermal event. Other than that *shrugs*.....
