Hello Everyone,
I found a small pistol on this afternoons hunt. The barrel is in pretty rough shape, but the handle looks pretty good.My question is how long should I soak the barrel in apple cider vinegar before trying to remove the crud??And how do i go about removing the crud? Thanks for the help!!I will post pictures when I'm done cleaning it.

My pistol frame was in bad shape. Completely rusted. 48 hours in apple cider vinegar then brush with wire brush. Then soak and brush every 24 hours until all the rust is gone. Change cider on about the 3rd or 4th day. Mine took a week to come clean. Hope that helps. Keep in mind mine was completely covered in rust. I also had no handles on it. Not sure about soaking if it has wood handles.

Sounds like a good find.

But, go ahead and post a "before" picture so we can see how well the cleaning works.

HH!
