I tried doing a search on "GEMSCO NEW YORK",
But It kept coming up with "GEMSCO CONNETICUT"
It's 24mm or 7/8 Inch. Ant help from you button experts out there

Yes its very similar to Civil Air Patrol but with what looks like a bumblebee and not the propeller. Nice find.

It seems to be a US airforce button 1949 - 1965, maybe latter i have not looked for a ,more moderen reference.

It is indeed the old pattern U.S. Air Force button, which remained in use until around 1993-95.
