Hi all - I found some Civil War items last year in Fredericksburg, VA. I've got the fantastic eagle breast plate, camp lead, and two bullets. In the first picture it's the bullet in the lower left that I'm not sure if it's CW or more modern. All of these were found in the same location.

It measures .45 diameter and .62 length.

The 3-ringer measures .57 to .58 diameter and 1.04 length.

Anyone know what my two bullets may be?

Your 3 ringer fits the civil war era but your other bullet is a modern .45 full metal jacket/ball ammo from a handgun or long gun like a tommy gun, it has a copper jacket and filled with lead you can see the grooves from the lands and grooves in modern firearms to assist with accuracy.

Nice finds and HH,

Matt

Thanks Matt!

You're more than welcome simulant, wish I could tell you more about your 3 ringer but I'm really just getting into reading up more on the civil war. If you posted in today's find's as a 3 ringer along with the detentions and the breast plate and ask for information on the 3 ringer you will get lots of feed back.
