That area is right up the road from where I live. Probably less than 10 miles by road.

Pretty historic as both the Confederates and the Union troops passed right through the area for the
taking of Harrisburg then back to Gettysburg for the finale.

I know of a very nice place there where a quality artifact was found a number of years ago ,,but alas the spot is now totally off-limits due to whats there now.

On that trip of discovery I talked to a few old timers there that told me that the civilians used to sit on "this" hill or "that" hill and picnic while watching the troop movements and skirmishes.

So when it cools off I am for sure heading back over there for some "discovery" of my own.

I know this isn't the "answer" you are seeking but it is an answer of sorts.

would love to pick your brain/give you some info.... I have permission to MD the whole town, we should meet up sometime !

That area is about 5 miles from me as the crow flies. When I get a chance, I will look in some of my York County history books to see if there is any information available on that town.

Awesome ! It would be much appreciated, I have done a lot of research myself

My grandpa said in the early 40's he remembers going to the store there to get molasses. He said it was in a big barrel and he would fill his mason jar from the tap

Also his aunt (who past about 10 years ago) has pictures and many stories about the (town) from about 1900 so it's confirmed an old town
