I found this at a late 1700's home site where I have dug everything from flat buttons to 2014 quarters :tongue3:, so first off...is this a button of sorts and if so any info to might it may be?

buttonp51.webp buttonp52.webp

It appears to have a "P5", "SU", "DC", and an arrow. I have not been able to find anything on it or even a guess on age.

I also found this:

buttonp53.webp

What could this be? I was thinking a decorative piece to behind like a dresser knob?

Thank you in advance.

I agree with the 2nd piece being a drawer pull backing plate, but the other doesn't look like a button to me (I can always be wrong)... Maybe the base to an old bulb of sorts? The numbers/letters seem more like specifications where on a button it would be either decorative something or brand advertising in those spaces, I think?

First item could very well be a part of a button fashioned after a Chinese cash coin, it has the features of a coin used for fashion purposes; second item is part of a drawer pull

Yeah I see your point. There was thread in the holes, which lead me to think button of something. Thank you the response. Have a great day!

Good ID Ironhorse and Osage Express! That example is spot on.
