I was at a Colonial period area today where a house built in the 1700's stood until 1992 when it was bull dozed. I was in the small field next to it that used to be a garden. Can anyone give me an idea of time period and what these buckles went too? I don't find to many and these two have me curious.

The first buckle, made of thin stamped sheetbrass, is from the 20th Century, or perhaps late-1800s at best. The time-dating clue is that the bar where the tongue is attached has flanges to keep the tongue centered on the bar. See photo below.

The second buckle is also stamped sheetbrass. The "sawteeth" on it are made for gripping a strap or belt made of fabric, such as a "web belt." Very-late 1800s to modern-era.
