My mother handed down this knife and I'm trying to find additional information on it. I believe it to be a 1917 Bolo that her father used in WW2. If you know anything about the knife or the letters/numbers on the sheath, I would love to hear/read it. Thank you all in advance!!

Not a rare knife, but worth $180.00 - $245.00 in most markets depending on condition of knife and scabbard. These were used by machine gunners to clear fields of fire.

Thanks Terry Soloman! Any idea what the letters and numbers are?

Decent looking bolo, any markings on the blade or cross guard? The K-6270 is I.D. of a soldier who it was once issued to. The letter is the first letter of the last name followed by the last four digits of his service number. Some gear I have has several I.D. numbers on it. Gear wasn't always marked, but if you chose to mark your gear this is the proper way. The other numbers/letters appear to be unit numbers.
