Out deer hunting I came upon a 3 acre hill that was just covered with quarts.Any idea what that streak in the crack is ? In the sunlight it looked just like silver. It does not flake, 002.JPG or peal off. Falcon MD-20 detects nothing.001.JPG

Nobody ?

Well, it's embedded in quartz. If it does not flake, then it's not mica. Therefore probably a sulfide vein. Arsenopyrite comes to mind. Depends on what the geology is in your immediate area.

Thanks much smokey. So would a 'sulfide vein' be an indicator of gold possibly nearby ? The hill the rock was on is covered with quarts ,Big & small. With no signs of any other type rock.
