Help to identify a hallmark on some earrings

Hello I have some small earrings with a C 417 hallmark on the back of them. Does anyone know what this means? The earrings look like gold but I'm not sure if they are or not but I can see this hallmark. Thank you

417 would mean 41.7 % gold or 10K. The "C" is probably maker mark.
