it is 8 3/4 long, 2 1/16 wide only distinguishing details are the cab windows and boiler handrail. I have searched through many images of Lionel Trains (it might not be one) Any help is welcome. Found in 'Out State N.Y. at an 1813 plank walled house I am trying to purchase ( and maybe find that 1802 half dime !!) I am in one of ther more historic areas of the state, so the detecting here in Prairie du Chien has been incredible. Especially since I am not running a top of the line machine. The menominee area should be amazing as well. I am really happy to help ID an incredibly beautiful piece.

"My notes tell me the #898 locomotive was produced trom 1946 to 1952.

My original notion of 1930's - 1940's was off by a bit. Wanted to be sure you had accurate info.
