I was thinking the same thing, four funnels, railings and lifeboats could be the Titanic. What a cool find. Where was it? Near an old house or park? That may give some clue such as something a kid lost (toy) or memorabilia if found near an old theater or fairgrounds etc..... I really like it though.

It is 3 dimensional. I would think the stacks would all look the same if it were titanic. It was found next to an old house. About 12 inches deep.

What other 4 stack luxury liners are there? It has the rail and what appear to be lifeboats, also. One possibility I can think of is that there were rights to the likeness of the real Titanic, and this ship was cast to look close enough, but not exactly like the Titanic to avoid any legal hassles.

Your ship is a 2 stack ocean liner. The other 2 "stacks" are masts with rigging. Similar to this one:

This is the Tenyo Maru, built in 1913. My wife's grandmother came to the US on this ship from Japan in 1920. 1000's of these type ships were built from the about 1880's to the 1930's.

So... yours is NOT the Titanic. Probably just your basic run-of-the-mill toy ship.

Thats funny. Sure didn't seem basic or run-of-the-mill coming out of the ground. Still a thrill after all these years.

:-[ I didn't mean to minimize your find. The FIND is certainly NOT run-of-the-mill.

I'm only saying that it is probably not a likeness of a specific ship - just a generic rendering of the ships of the day.
