Where is the best place to have old ancient coins authenticated and appraised? For example the decadrachm of Syracuse.

A local trusted coin dealer would be my first stop. Large coin shows are another good place. There's usually someone there well versed in ancient world coins. I'd also do some reading and online searching to learn more about the type of coins you have so you don't look totally ignorant when you talk to the "experts".
