If the medalian is Polish in origin, its easy to understand why; Columbus Ohio (Germantown) original citizenry make-up were Germans, Hungarians, Polish and a great number of European Jewish immigrants...Bexley and Reynoldsburg became the agricultural subburbs...

Most were immigrants prior to WWII...
Maybe You are right, stefen.
Anyway... They survived WWII, somehow.....

What do you know about WWII ???
Where would you go, if this war was nearby to your Home???
What would you do, if someone would be powerfull enough to kill you without a blink of an eye ???
Life is easy with no knowledge of History.

But stefen...
What would you do, if WWII happened in United States of America instead of Europe ???
.

Just curious.

My Grandparents on my Moms side are also immigrants of Eastern Europe.. My Grandma used to talk about hiding in a haystack from the Germans and then the Ruskees, (Russians)as a child, whom she says were much worse. She escaped a very bad situation. Many of my relatives died in Soviet prisons. I hope your family survived.

Dont forget we were attacked on our home soil and you know what we will do. Historically we have also helped other countries fight tryranny.

Matejko was just upset about the down and tied eagle on the other post that may have been Polish. I say delete the Eagle pic and we can all stay friends. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,250088.0.html

Back on subject: Mhunter, you are expected to follow your post and answer questions.

Anyone of these fit in?

Or here:

The Polish eagle is the closest I've found yet.
This eagle looks very much like the Polish Falcon in your second link. I think we can conclude that it is Polish, even though Matejko doesnt recognize it, or maybe its a misunderstanding. But who is the lady?

If it isn't Polish, it is a definate copy of a Polish eagle/falcon.

We are friends, BCH (haven't you had a longer nick?). I'm not angry about Polish Eagle pic. I simply ment that the pic wasn't funny. That's all.

As I wrote . This pendant looks to me like a "happy creation of a maker".
Eagle looks very Polish, but it has not got any marks that would confirm its extraction for sure.
Let's say that it's got a Polish root.

Pozdrawiam Matejko

You are from Poland, I will defer to you. By the way, is Olek a Polish name?

Yes.
It is a Polish name.

Olek is a diminution of Aleksander (Alexander).
In english, is simply Alex.

Pozdrawiam

I understand.
When I first joined Hunter was taken, Cypresshunter was taken also, so I picked Bigcypresshunter because I couldnt think of anything else fast enough. Yes very long lol. I love to hunt in the Big Cypress National Preserve here in the USA and I particularly like deer and wild hog hunting in cypress swamps.
