Hello all, i have this buckle and can't quite figure out what it is. Maybe a cross belt plate? Royal Scot regiment of foot? any help would be great. Thanks
I was going to say that most of the older plates I've seen, have the emblem stamped into the metal, not clipped in with wire pieces. IDK, but i'm wondering how old this might actually be, or is it a modern replica ?
Or maybe a homemade piece because it really looks quit primitive made.. :dontknow:

i cant seem to find one exactly like your post. I feel like you can almost see a line going vertical on your piece. where the wire use to be and had worn a mark into the back. so maybe yours is a miss match of real pieces and was constructed fairly recently. i don't know, you will have to get an expert on British Military to weigh in.

lol whoops. didn't even check the original date. Just saw it at the top of the 'today's find' list.
No big deal, I was just laughing at how old the original post was and that he hadn't been back since November 14, 2014.

I think that the long piece on the back of the plate originally stuck out straight, like a nail.
Then it would be hammered into a door as a room number, maybe in a hotel.
